So I saw on social media that there is this bridging loan from government, I was thinking, might be good to have some money to tie through. I clicked and they directed me to a guy call “Andy”. They said I needed to do video call with my NRIC to proceed with loan. So I did video-call him and send them my nric. I was told there is a process fees and I transferred them. Then thereafter, I realised the co name was not the same as what they claimed to be in the first place. Feeling suspicious about the whole thing, I told them that I wanted to cancel the loan request. Ended up they ask me to make a cancellation fee of 3k plus and I did becos they threatened to harm my family if I did not.. Then they became more aggressive. They wanted to -burn down my house and harm my family if i did not transfer them another sum of money. I report to the police all this …and till now they still kept calling me.Editor’s Note: Licensed moneylenders cannot advertise their services online, including social media, via messaging apps, SMSes or cold calls.
